November came

November 19, 2014

November came and the days turned dark and cold
The wind blew, and the chill in my bones was palpable.
The earth became quiet as it prepared to hibernate from the outer world,
and my heart slowed down a few beats to begin hibernating itself.

Thoughts turned to moving south as they always do this time of year
but somehow I just never seem to make it happen.
I listened to the furnace run and waited for the room to warm,
for my fire to glow again with Spring.

November….the month of acknowledging the Fruition of the seasons …from the Spring Solstice to the Autumn..a time of graciously accepting and waiting…waiting for the Winter Solstice…..and the Quiet that it brings…as we again anticipate the return of the Spring with all her promises..
